Chia Jam!

I love the ease and versatility of jam but I don’t like the sugar content which is why we have started making chia jam in our house. 

 The chia in this jam adds a good amount of protein and healthy fats to help balance the sugar. 

This jam is so quick to make too and will store for about a week in the fridge! 

300g of frozen berries - whichever you like 

1 tbsp of maple syrup

3-4 tbsp of chia seeds

Pop the berries and maple syrup into a saucepan and heat gently. Once the berries have melted and mushed together take off the heat and add the chia seeds 1 tbsp at a time until you get the consistency you like. Leave to cool then  transfer to a glass jar and store in the fridge.

My kids love it as a quick after school snack and my husband has it on his toast in the morning. You can also add it to porridge or to pancakes ❤️🍓
